For anyone running interviews right now: we stopped banning tools and started asking candidates to walk through the code they produced, line by line, after the fact. It filters better than a ban, and it is closer to the actual job.

Late to this. Somebody needs to make the sequel about the interviewer who has not written code since 2015 and asks you to invert a binary tree on a whiteboard. I have met him three times this year. 🙃
