Nigeria: transfer. Kenya: M-Pesa. Next question 😂 but honestly the answer is option 6, and the real question is which country first
Achieng Owino@achieng_devrel
Exactly why option 6 is there. This poll is really asking "where do you launch first", in disguise.

One integration, and then your customer in Kisumu has to turn USDC into shillings to buy flour. Who does that for them, at what fee? The rail is not the whole journey.

Speaking as someone actually paid in USDT: Achieng is right. Stablecoins are great for getting paid from abroad. For groceries you still need a local rail and someone who converts, and that someone takes a cut

Ghana: MoMo, chale. Nobody I know pays a small business with a card. And please design the MoMo flow for people who do not read English well 🙏

SA is the odd one out: cards and EFT first. M-Pesa actually launched here and shut down in 2016. We already had banks everywhere and the agent network never took off

Thank you Lindi, South Africa is the best counterexample to "mobile money wins everywhere". Same product, different market, different result.

voted transfer. if your nigerian checkout doesnt show an account number to pay into, abeg add it. people will open their bank app and do it right there
